PRINT, POSTER DESIGN, VECTOR, TYPOGRAPHYThis pair of posters was created to promote a fictional vampire-themed zine workshop for high school students in New Orleans. This piece was the sequel to the 826 Branding project, where we were tasked to visualize what it would look like if our retail store hosted a literary event. The target audience was both the teens of high school and their teachers + parents, so my visuals had to strike a balance between informational and appealing. I was heavily inspired by Polish media posters from the 70's, which influenced my use of vector illustration and typography. These posters are designed to be viewed solo or together to allow for adaptability when placing them in a promotional environment.
The Process
Brainstorming
To prepare for the process of making the final collage posters, I created dozens of physical and digital collages using magazine clippings, website screenshots, and AI made assets. Below are some highlights.
Visualization
For this poject, I was heavilty inspired by the illustrations and typography of Polish posters from the 60’s and 70’s. The handmade quality of these pieces bodes really well for the DIY zine theme of my fictional work shop. A common color scheme throughout these posters is a dark, a light, and a saturated pop of color. The piece to the left, a cover for Polish magazine Ty i Ja, heavily informed my color palette.
